A new drug to treat erectile dysfunction is under way for the first time in three years.
It will be available online from pharmacies in the UK from the end of September.
The drug, called Vitaros, works by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping men with impotence to have an erection.
It will cost around £35 for a pack of four tablets, making it the most expensive medication ever introduced.
Dr Laura Squire, from Pfizer, toldThe Independentthat the drug will be available from pharmacies in the UK from the end of September.
The launch follows the success of Viagra Connect, which was approved in the UK for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in 1998.
Vitaros is the first approved in the UK for this indication, and has the same active ingredient as other impotence treatments.
The drug, which has been available in 50mg and 100mg doses, is designed to help men regain their erection.
It works by relaxing muscles in the penis, helping men to have an erection when sexually aroused.
The drug is also being tested in the UK for other reasons.
It will be available from pharmacies in the UK from the end of September.
A spokeswoman said: "Viagra Connect is not designed for men with erectile dysfunction and has not yet been shown in the UK.
